The hope is that it will encourage more people to travel yet not enable too many high-spending business flyers to switch to low fares. At 4pm next Tuesday, 8 April, Alitalia (08705 448 259, ) is taking £30 off its online fares from London for a stretch of 49 hours – until 5pm on Thursday, 10 April.
